“HIGH PRODUCTIVITY PACKAGE” for WIND TOWER AND OFF-SHORE FOUNDATIONS
When compared to the on-shore wind towers, the foundations and tower thickness necessary in the off-shore wind towers are much larger, with thicknesses for the foundations up to 140mm (5.5″) and the towers up to 100mm (4″).

“In the highly competitive market of wind tower construction, in order to control costs, the manufacturing process of these steel structures needs to be addressed. High production and consistent quality is the main goal.”

In the past several years, Davi has responded to these needs by engineering the Wind Tower plate rolling machine HIGH PRODUCTIVITY PACKAGE, initially a dedicated system to produce on-shore towers and then its natural evolution to produce foundations and offshore structures.

A number of dedicated handling devices (many are Davi patents), installed on the DAVI four roll Wind Tower bending machine, allow a single operator in one pass through the machine to roll a steel plate into a cylindrical or conical section in less than 10-15 minutes, maintaining the tight geometric tolerances required by the industry.

The high accuracy of the system allows the plate to be rolled within the tight manufacturing tolerances required without the need to re-roll the can, greatly reducing the production cycle.

Through handling devices, the Wind Tower bending machine HIGH PRODUCTIVITY PACKAGE manages the alignment of the plate and one operator can quickly and easily align the plate for tack welding while still on the machine.
